Agape Counseling and Therapeutic Services (ACTS) provides counseling and support for those who are struggling with:
- Marital problems
- Substance abuse
- Depression
- Difficult family relationships
- Impulse control
- Anxiety
- Conflict resolution
- Anger management
- Unhealthy sexual behaviors
- Building and/or maintaining social relationships
- Major life transitions
ACTS provides services such as:
- Therapeutic Day Treatment
- Intensive In-Home Services
- Mental Health Support
- Therapeutic Foster Care
- Geriatrics Services
Child & Adolescent Services
This treatment program entails a combination or psychotherapeutic interventions combined with education and mental health treatment. The treatments are offered in programs of two or more hours per day with groups of children and adolescents.
Intensive In-Home Services
These services are time-limited interventions provided typically, but not solely, in the home of a child or adolescent who is either at risk of being moved into an out-of-home placement, or being transitioned back home from an out-of-home placement as mandated by the documented medical needs of the child.
Prevocational
Prevocational services are defined as services aimed at preparing an individual for paid or unpaid employment, but which are not job task-oriented. Pre-vocational services are provided to individuals who are not expected to join the regular work force without support.
Activities include, but are not limited to:
- Training and support in skills which are aimed at preparation for paid employment offered in a variety of community settings;
- Training and support in such concepts as accepting supervision, attendance, task completion, problem solving and safety;
- Staff coverage for transportation of the individual between training and service activity sites.
There are two types of Prevocational Services, both provided at either Intensive or Regular Levels:
- Center based : provided partly or entirely in a single location with other individuals with disabilities, and
- Non-center-based : provided entirely in community settings.
Day Support
Day Support Services include training, assistance or specialized supervision for the acquisition, retention or improvment in self-help, socialization and adaptive skills. It allows peer interactions and an opportunity for community and social integration.
Services include, but are not limited to:
- Functional training in self, social, and environmental awareness skills;
- Functional training in communication and personal care;
- Functional training in learning and problem-solving skills;
- Supervision to ensure the individual's health and safety; and
- Opportunities to use functional skills in community settings.
